Hi to all readers. I like to present you writers from Romania in www.imagikon.ev.ro and www.wordmaster.ev.ro. They are good, they are young and they need your comments! Please do! Thanks,

I remember reading some stories by a Romanian writer many years ago. I think his name was Ion Hobana. He was a very good writer. It has been almost 10 years since I last went to Romania! I ought to go again before too long. |

First I'd like to thank Marius for opening this thread, I hope that i won't be the only Romanian young writer to come here and say something more than you all might know about Romanian SciFi. Yes, Ion Hobana is a good author, but he is one of the old ones (both old himself and old as an author) and Romania has much more to give in the open field of SciFi literature. As Marius said, Imagikon and Wordmaster are indeed a reference. If anyone on this forum speaks Romanian (of which I doubt, but who knows) please visit www.sfera.ev.ro for it is the most active Romanian SF e-zine. |

Ion Hobana is old but his work is very good and well known; under his wing our new writers grows and you can read them on those sites. For Rhys - you can come again any time or you can visit our SF sites to be close to Romania Regards,

There were two anthologies of Romanian SF in English (one in dos-a-dos Romanian/English, the other in English only) published by Nemira(?) in Romania in the early 90s. Norman Spinrad was involved with it to some degree, and contributed an introduction. Some of the stories were quite good, if memory serves me right. I'd be interested to know what the current situation is - I notice both links above no longer lead anywhere... |

Try more: www.lumivirtuale.ro - Lumi Virtuale (Virtual Worlds), the Romanian magazine (3 awards at the last two national conventions) From the menu (left size) click on "Arhiva" (archive). In every issue you'll find an "English page" with (new) Romanian science fiction stories translated in English. Enjoy!
