Just received it this morning. Absolutely gorgeous-looking book, in the tradition of real Horror anthologies of the golden age, and dedicated to Herbert van Thal (1904-1983). Contains stories by Mark Samuels*, Gary Fry, Roger B Pile, David A Sutton, Paul Finch, Gary McMahon, David A Riley and many others. Published by Mortbury Press mortburypress@yahoo.com Picture of cover here; http://vaultofevil.suddenlaunch3.com/index.cgi?board=zero&action=display&num=118 3550817 I've placed this thread under my name, as I have two short pieces in it! :-) des *I once started a Mark Samuels thread on Night Shade Books forums here in 2003: http://www.nightshadebooks.com/discus/messages/8/752.html?1169056625 |

If anything deserves a thread bump, this incredible book certainly does! |

I think when something strikes me so forcibly as did this book when it arrived in the post yesterday, it ceases to be 'promotion' but trying to share this personal feeling with others. |

Hey, as this is a DFL board, pleased to see the 2nd one liked PIE IN THICK GRAVY! Please do continue to post reviews of the book here, however, Charles, even if they don't like the Lewis ones! |

The Second Black Book of Horror has arrived through my doorflap! Wow! What a truly lovely book. Great to see the editor's by-line on the actual book's front cover's tombstone! A feature which is not on the website version of this image. Also great to see printed inside: Also in this series: The Black Book of Horror The Third Black Book of Horror (forthcoming) http://www.freewebs.com/mortburypress/ |
